what is one plant and one animal that can be found in a deciduous forest?

I need to find one plant and one animal that can only be found in a deciduous forest.
Anybody know?
Also, what are two different organisms that compete for the same resources in this biome?

Shagbark Hickory (Carya ovata) and the Eastern Gray Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis).

These compete with the Shellbark hickory (Carya laciniosa) and the Fox Squirrel (Sciurus niger).

It would be easy to write a dozen pages of this. Basically any forest that turns fall colors and drops it’s leaves in the winter is a deciduous forest by definition, so any of the thousands of plants from a forest that lose their leaves would work for an answer, and any animal that eats mainly that type of plant (or a predator that eats mainly animals of that type) would work for your answer.

Just avoid using any animals found in the tropics like the Everglades or in coniferous (pine, spruce, fir etc) forests like are common in the Pacific Northwest and mountains and you’ll be pretty close to a right answer.
